Granite sinks are huge, bulky sinks that are out of the rock called granite, and are very popular with the more modern kitchen and bathroom experts, very proud of the choice of things like washing and so on. There are several advantages and disadvantages of using granite sinks, however, that it is important to understand.

The advantages of using granite sinks are oftenthought of in terms of durability and versatility. For one thing, there are dozens of colors, patterns, veining, and so on to be chosen from with granite sinks for both bathroom and kitchen use. Sinks made of granite are considered to be versatile because they can be used in outdoor areas without fear of rusting, like close to a barbeque area or near the garage door, and so on. Another advantage of granite sinks is that they are nearly impossible to break, scratch, destroy, or damage in any way under even the heaviest of uses.

Cons

With the advantages, of course, will come the disadvantages of sinks made of granite. One huge disadvantage is the cost of these sinks. Because they are so durable and beautiful, they are usually priced so much higher than porcelain, metal and even stainless steel sinks that they are sometimes overlooked as an option. Another disadvantage of sinks that are made of granite is that they almost always have to be professionally installed because of their weight and bulkiness, which is another cost consideration to be thought of. Finally, many people believe that sinks that are made of granite for any room as an extravagance that only shows off wealth rather than an investment in a durable, versatile material, which can deter some people from buying them just based on that viewpoint.
